Why did you want to get involved with DETENTION?
Having direct experience of Clause 28, growing up through its deathly silence, fear, and ignorance, the impact on me as a child and even now as an adult; I continue to witness its far stretching impact in the education system, on LGBTQ+ youth, and in our communities. Getting involved with DETENTION is about protest for me and more so now as government debates trans and gender diverse rights and education legislation.
