Imogen Wright

Dancer

Imogen Wright (they/them) is a freelance artist based in Leeds, having completed their training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2021. They continued their journey with VERVE, NSCD’s postgraduate company, touring internationally with works by Sita Ostheimer, Alesandra Seutin, and Akram Khan.

Beyond NSCD, Imogen has collaborated with companies, including Far From The Norm, Jack Philp Dance, Extended Play Dance, Cathy Waller Company, and Northern Rascals.

In addition to their work as a performer, Imogen was a Partner Movement Associate for the National Theatre’s Public Acts programme, where they contributed to creating inclusive and accessible theatre experiences for communities across the UK. This role allowed them to combine their passion for performance with their commitment to social engagement.

Imogen is particularly motivated by the opportunity to collaborate with artists in creating work that challenges conventions, celebrates diversity, and fosters collective empowerment. Through their art, they aim to honour their heritage, embrace their identity, and forge meaningful connections with audiences.

Excited to join Gary Clarke Company, Imogen sees this opportunity as a chance for artists with shared experiences to collaborate, reclaim their voices, and stand together in this new creation.
