Alex Gosmore
Dancer
Alex started dancing in his hometown of Bristol before moving to Leeds to train at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Following this, he toured with VERVE where he performed works by Sita Ostheimer, Alesandra Seutin and Akram Khan.
Professionally, he has worked as part of Tom Dale Company, Uchenna Dance, Extended Play, Shaper/Caper and James Cousins Company.
Alongside performing, Alex is developing his choreographic voice. As an artist, he is inspired by music, nightlife, cityscapes and social politics.
He first worked with Gary Clarke for his professional debut in ‘Chronicles’ at the Lawrence Batley Theatre (2021) and has continued a working relationship with the company since. He also performed in ‘Palace Of Varieties’ and now joins the cast of DETENTION.
“I am honoured to be part of DETENTION and to share its message with audiences, amplifying the voices of the LGBTQ+ community and those of us who came before. This is a tribute to them.”
