
Alexandra Bierlaire
Dancer
Alexandra Bierlaire is an interdisciplinary dancer and maker from Brussels. She started dancing at the Ballet Conservatoire in Brussels, before moving to the UK to study at BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban graduating with first-class honours and most recently graduating with an MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2024.
Alexandra’s performance of a solo by Trinity Maguire won the 2024 Tremplin Jury’s prize in Biarritz, France. She is part of Heavyware, a duo formed with Gian Sanghera-Warren, together they create interdisciplinary futuristic performances which have been shown in Brussels and Gent. Other credits include Fall, Fold, Nest by Susan Sentler, a version of Gecko’s associate show The Rescue, and the film To Bend but Not Break by Dan Canham.
Alexandra now lives in Brussels, where as well as being a dancer and maker, she teaches contemporary dance and ballet and works as an outside eye and choreography support for music performance and theatre work in Brussels.
