Why did you want to get involved with DETENTION?
As a fan of Gary Clarke’s bold and emotive choreography and his ability to tell real human stories through dance I wanted to push myself creatively and see how far I could go outside my comfort zone.
Having been a teacher during the Section 28 era and now an active voice in the LGBTQ+ community, DETENTION resonates deeply with my belief in equality and self-expression and feels both personal and necessary.
