Why did you want to get involved with DETENTION?
I am passionate about supporting people living with HIV and am proud to continue being a HIV advocate to fight stigma and discrimination which are, sadly, still in existence. With Section 28 being an integral part of queer history, I am honoured to be a part of DETENTION as it is a powerful piece – the fight continues. My roots go back to Malaysia where it is illegal to be gay and punishable with caning and imprisonment.
